Nicaragua: All the bricks they threw

So...I'm a list-maker, remember? Also, let it be known that sometimes I turn to sarcasm to deal with difficult, awkward, and/or uncomfortable situations. Two years of constantly living through situations of the aforementioned variety have provided excellent material for the following list which I am about to present to you.

Someone once told me to never say never. However, it is sometimes necessary to say "never" for dramatic effect. With that being said, allow me to share my non-exclusive list entitled, "Stuff Peace Corps Volunteers in Nicaragua Never Say." I hope you enjoy it.

1. "Yes, I am made of money."

2. "My plate of food is so colorful."

3. "Let's talk about politics and religion."

4. "I'm from Minnesota...it's basically just like Miami."

5. "Please keep whistling at me as I walk by."

6. "I love it when the locals comment on my weight."

7. "The world needs more nancite."

8. "That training went so smoothly."

9. "I've been really emotionally stable lately."

10. "People send me so many care packages."

11. "I just can't believe how many pairs of clean underwear I have."

12. "No new cavities!"

13. "You know, I feel like my personal hygiene has really improved since coming to Peace Corps."

14. "There is so much to do here on Sundays."

15. "So did you see what happened on the telenovela last night?"

16. "Sorry, can't tell you. I don't spread gossip."

17. "That bus ride was so comfortable."

18. "Yes! Time to fill out the VRF!"

19. "I've really become fond of instant coffee."

20. "You know the only reason I came here was to have a blue-eyed baby with a local."

21. "I can't believe how efficiently that project was completed."

22. "My students grasp every single lesson."

23. "Corn Island really didn't impress me."

24. "I wish my neighbors would turn up the volume when they listen to music."

25. "Everything here makes so much sense."
