Argentina: Córdoba (an ice rink?)

It's a rainy Saturday, and while I'd much prefer a rainy Saturday over a frozen Saturday, I think a sunny Saturday is the best Saturday of them all. Oh well, we can't always get what we want...

Speaking of things frozen, I found an ice rink this week! Ok, so it wasn't a real one, but you could go skating on it! I'm not entirely sure what it was made out of (it wasn't made of ice, that's for sure). It was on the upper level of a shopping mall, advertised as "ecological" for using "zero water and electricity." Here's a video:

Going to the "ice rink" is not the cordobes' preferred way of surviving the heat. People would much rather head to the river or sit outside by the pool. Here's a glance at the river in nearby Carlos Paz on New Year's Day. It had rained the night before, so the water is noticeably higher (and brown) due to the risen current.

I'm a lucky one for having experienced such an amount of sunshine so far in 2018. I've been trying to share some with you subzero-temperature-combating northerners, I promise! I should also consider myself extra lucky for having seen these flowers in bloom in the backyard this week. I don't think they lasted for more than 8 hours, so what luck I had to actually catch them in their full glory! January showers bring...January flowers? Sure, why not?!

I hope you all have a happy Saturday wherever you may be, whether rainy, sunny, frozen, or somewhere in between.
