Argentina: Córdoba (cats)
The dogs are away, so the cat has come to play. During these summer months, the dogs have gone to the summer mountain house where they have more space to run and a river where they can swim. Meanwhile in the city, the yard has a fresh layer of sod, there are lots of new planters filled with flowers of all kinds, and someone new has claimed his territory.
Meet Frankie! He comes from one of the neighboring houses and spends most of his time roaming the grounds while loudly meowing, pouncing on bugs and worms in the grass, chattering at birds, grooming his nails on the tree trunks, and sleeping in the sunshine. He likes to greet us with a "good morning" every dawn, and in true feline style he comes and goes as he pleases.
He's a friendly chap and appears to be well taken care of. Somebody must be raising him right, since he is even voluntarily helping out with cleaning the grill here.
What a guy! The dogs are set to come back in the coming week. That may mean the end of Frankie's visits, though in my ideal world the three of them would hit if off from the get go and become best friends.
