Mexico: Thanksgiving, pt. 2

We did it.

Thanks to Sanborn's restaurants and their decision to offer the traditional turkey dinner in Mexico, we had ourselves a great Thanksgiving meal. After hitting the gym, we were more than ready to have our fill of bread, fruit, cream corn, mashed potatoes, cranberries, turkey, waldorf salad, and pumpkin pie. Well, minus the turkey for me. Mexico doesn't know tofurkey yet. Anyway, it was wonderfully satisfying.

So there we were, four guys and one girl, sitting around the dinner table. The conversation, of course, was dominated by testosterone. Having grown up being the only girl with three brothers, I knew how to handle this oh-so-familiar situation. Let's face it, boys are ridiculous and sometimes they need help realizing it. Even though I am sure they did not exactly appreciate the break in the flow of our conversation, I insisted that since it was Thanksgiving we should go around the table and share what we are thankful for.

The mood changed from eye-rolling to tear-jerking. We all realized that the twists of fate can be pretty awesome and we all have a lot to be thankful for, even though we don't always take the time to think about it. I knew there was a reason why I liked Thanksgiving so much.
