U.S.: Let's Go to Mexico
Yesterday as I was running some last minute errands before departing on my Mexican adventure, I happened upon a couple of "meant-to-be" moments.
Moment #1: I entered a thrift store in search of a cheap pair of flats, ones that will be good for walking the streets of Mexico City. I browsed the shoe section for less than a minute before finding the perfect pair when I realized that the song playing over the loud-speaker was saying, "I think I'll go to Mexico."
Moment #2: I have had a Caribou Coffee gift card sitting in my wallet for a long time and I have simply neglected to use it. That being so, I figured a stop for a smoothie would be a good end to my errand-running. I ordered a small strawberry-banana smoothie, used up the remaining balance on my gift card, bringing my total left to pay to a whopping 78 cents. Fate would have it that 78 cents was the exact amount of change I had in my wallet - no more, no less.
On that note, I think I'm ready for life in the big city of Mexico, D.F.
